For the realization of thermal insulation materials used most frequently are:
- For the isolation of type hot:
- manufactures rock wool (felt quilted, panels and cups);
- manufactures glass fiber (felt quilted, panels and cups);
- manufactures ceramic fiber (felt).
- For the isolation of type cold
- Elastomeric sheaths (type Armflex);
- Preformed polyurethane;
- Cellular glass foam;
- Phenols.
- As finishing materials as the case may be used:
- Flat sheet or corrugated aluminum;
- Flat sheet or corrugated galvanized steel;
- Stainless steel sheet.
Does it summarizes the many forms of insulation made by the Company in an industrial environment. The isolation of the equipment in service is running hot with mattresses leaning against supports and tied with straps of steel sheet of the final application of finish. In particular:
isolation of heat pipes in service can be used both mats, which are wound on the pipe (later the edges of the wire mesh are sewn together with wire or strips) and cups fixed with wire or tape. The finish is made of calendered sheet and board. For special parts such as valves, bends, etc.. are constructed in special factory manufactures fixed or removable.
isolation of the equipment in service using cold slabs of insulating material to be prepared to adhere well to the curvature of the equipment in which they should be applied, they should be mounted with the longest side in the direction of the generation of surface with all joints strongly united head and split between them. The insulation should be secured with straps enough pull to keep the insulation in place permanently. On the outer surface also takes place a vapor barrier over which is superimposed a blade finish.
In the isolation of the cold service piping insulation is assembled with joints closely united and sufficiently covered, over their entire surface area of contact with the material specifically indicated as a sealant for the joints. Here also is expected a vapor barrier and a finish in metal.
